Giveaway: 4 NRU's 2012 calendars

This year is the fifth aniversary of this website. For this reason i want to do a giveaway of four NRU's printed calendars to four Nico's fans who visits this web.
The giveaway will consist in four competitions, the first one with one 5 question's quiz, the second will be a fanart contest in the NRU's facebook fanpage, the third is an opportunity in the blog posting a comment, and the fourth one question and the fastest one will be the winner.

The 5 question's quiz, it's the first one, i will put a question on the website in a post and you have two days to answer it, if you answer it correctly you will be in the list to win the calendar, this will happen with all the questions. At the end of the quiz the calendar will be among those who are successful all the questions.

The fanart contest it's simple, you can upload any photo showing your support to Nico, you can upload photo montages, collages, drawings all you want. This contest will last one week.

The others 2 competitions are very simple, one is to put a comment in the correct post and then the giveaway will be among all the people who has commented in that post.
An the last one will be for the fastest, who answer the question correctly, will win the calendar.

All the contests are international.

PD: the answers to all questions can be found on the web, or social networks in which we are, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, ect...

The first two competitions will start on Monday at 10.00 pm (spanish time)

The Mercedes-Benz works Silver Arrows team will compete under the name ‘MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team’ from the 2012 season.

AMG is the performance brand of Mercedes-Benz, and has been synonymous with performance, sportiness, exciting driving and motorsport success for more than 40 years. The Mercedes AMG brand is the most successful in the history of the DTM, winning 165 races from 342 since 1988 and securing a total of 32 driver, manufacturer and team titles. AMG has also been continuously active in the world of Formula One since 1996, supplying both the Formula 1 Safety Car and the Formula 1 Medical Car. It is therefore a logical step to strengthen the links between AMG and the Formula One activities of Mercedes-Benz.

The car with which the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team will compete in the 2012 season is currently under development at the team’s headquarters in Brackley, UK. Codenamed F1 W03, it is planned for the car to make its official track debut at the second winter test of 2012, on 21 February at Barcelona.

“Today wasn’t an ideal ending to the season, and although I scored some points, I expected to finish higher than P7. I didn’t get a good start, and I had problems with my tyres overheating as the track temperatures were very high. So I had to manage my tyres very carefully during the whole race which impacted on the pace. Now I’m looking ahead and I hope we can do better in 2012. I look forward to an exciting time in the winter as we work hard to develop a better car for next year.”

“That was a good qualifying session today. We saved a set of option tyres for the race, and we qualified ahead of one of the Ferraris which has always been my goal during the season. So I’m quite pleased to be starting from sixth place tomorrow. I was maybe a little too slow on my out lap in Q3 so my tyres didn’t work perfectly on my fast lap, and that’s why I wasn’t as quick as in Q2. I will push to gain a good result tomorrow for the team who have done a great job over the whole season.”

“The conditions out there were quite difficult today as the track was a bit slippery. However our times were quite good and not too far away from the top cars. We learned a lot on high and low fuel levels during the sessions. As the weather forecast is rain, it’s difficult to make a prediction for tomorrow. “I’m really looking forward to going to Brazil next week. The Interlagos track is amazing to drive, and in the last weeks we have made some steps forward without having any big updates on the car, so it should be a good weekend. I would love to give the season a nice ending; our engineers, the boys in the garage and everybody at our factories in Brackley and Brixworth deserve a good result at our last race. The stronger qualifying and race pace in Abu Dhabi makes me confident that we can push and try to catch one of the cars from the top three teams at Interlagos. Our Mercedes engine power and the top speed in the car will be good for getting up the hill on the long start-finish straight.”

“It was an interesting race for me today. The start didn’t work out very well as I tried to overtake Felipe but suddenly there was no space left. Michael was able to overtake me, and we had a fun battle before I took the place back. From then, I was able to handle my tyre situation very well. I stayed out a bit longer before the second stop as there was some grip left, and it was better to stay out with the softer tyres. With the prime tyres, I had some understeer which made it impossible to overtake Felipe towards the end. Thanks to my engineering team who did a brilliant job here and I was quite happy with my car all weekend. Our pit stop guys were also great again, and that’s why we achieved a good result today. It makes me look forward to Brazil and hopefully we can achieve another good result there.”

“We didn’t quite get the maximum from our qualifying session today which was a shame. The track temperatures dropped during the session and it became more difficult to get the tyres working. On my second run in Q3, I had too much traffic in front of me to warm the tyres up sufficiently and that hurt me on the quick lap, otherwise I think we could have been further ahead. However I’m on the good side of the grid and it should be a fun race tomorrow.”

MERCEDES GP PETRONAS is delighted to confirm that the team and Nico Rosberg have agreed a multi-year contract extension to include the 2013 season and beyond.

Since joining MERCEDES GP PETRONAS for the 2010 season, Nico has achieved three podiums, scored 217 points and demonstrated that he belongs to the top group of drivers currently racing in Formula One.

Nico Rosberg said: “I am very excited to have extended my contract with the MERCEDES GP PETRONAS team. To win in a Silver Arrow will be one of the highlights of my life so far, and I greatly enjoy helping to lead our team in our quest to become the best in Formula One. “I like it very much. It’s a fantastic setting with the track winding around the harbour and the hotel, and there is always a great atmosphere there with so many fans. I have good memories from last year’s race and racing later in the day makes an interesting change to the usual race weekend format.I felt very comfortable in my car over the Indian Grand Prix weekend, and I’m planning to build on the result there in Abu Dhabi. I hope that we can get closer to the fastest teams for the last couple of races this season, and we are pushing very hard to achieve that.”

“A good team result is what the boys in the garage deserved. I’m also pleased to have gained one place on my grid position. However my strategy was not perfect today and I lost some time in the second pit stop which meant that I wasn’t able stay ahead of Michael. I had good pace at the end of the race and pushed very hard but it was impossible to catch him over the last laps. I’m confident that we can repeat this good result in the last two races. All in all, it has been a good Indian Grand Prix debut for us and I hope all the fans enjoyed the race. I’m looking forward to coming back next year.”

“In Q1, I hit a kerb quite heavily and damaged the floor which lost some of the car’s downforce for the rest of qualifying. I was on my quickest lap at the end of Q3 but unfortunately I had to slow down for the yellow flag after Felipe’s incident so that cost me some time.I will push hard to gain places tomorrow and have a good race on this fantastic track. "The new track here in India is awesome. It has some very interesting corners, and that’s why it takes a bit longer to get used to the layout than at some of the other new circuits.Turn two for example is very different; you come from downhill, then go up looking into the sky and so you see the hairpin very late, just before you arrive. In general we had two good sessions and learned quite a few things today so I have a good feeling for this weekend. Hopefully that feeling will continue tomorrow.”

“It will be very exciting for me to discover the new culture. I am planning to spend a few days in the country and looking forward to doing some sightseeing, particularly making a visit to the Taj Mahal. I hope the first race in India will be a great show for all motorsport fans there, and a big success. I enjoy going to new tracks for the first time as I tend to learn them quickly, and it will be very interesting to set the car up as there will be so many unknown points. I hope to be able to fight in amongst the top six cars again, like during the last race in Korea, but this time hopefully I will be able to stay ahead of one of them until the end of the race.”

“I had good speed at the start of the race today but after we changed to the prime tyres, it became more difficult as the degradation was too strong. I had some nice battles against Jenson and the Ferraris, and was pushing hard to defend my position against Felipe and Fernando in the middle stint.
During this, I flat-spotted my front tyres so I had to pit earlier than expected which made my last stint on the primes very long. I didn't have enough grip by the end and so I just wasn't able to defend the position against Jaime. A difficult race for me today but I'm still happy to score some points."

To find the right set-up for the qualifying and the race is always a compromise, particularly after such limited dry running, so I’m happy that we saved one set of option tyres. It will be tough to catch one of the top six drivers tomorrow but hopefully I’ll have a good start and may be able to gain a position there. It will be an interesting race from the tyre perspective with a lot of stops, and I’m confident that our boys will do a great job in the pits again.”

“I was feeling very comfortable on the intermediate tyres this afternoon, and we tried some different set-up options which worked out quite well. My car was running well in the conditions we had today, but the weather is expected to change for Saturday and Sunday, so it will be interesting to see how it works out tomorrow. The collision was a tricky situation and unfortunately brought my session to an early conclusion but at least I didn’t miss out on any dry running. “I had fun out there with a few nice overtaking manoeuvres. This is definitely one of the toughest tracks for overtaking so starting from the back of the grid meant that I had a pretty tough job. Before the race, I hoped to achieve between eighth and 10th places and, whilst it would have been nice to be a bit higher, it’s still a decent result. Thanks to the team for a good strategy and great pit stops today. After this complicated weekend, I hope to have a more normal weekend in Korea and fight in our usual position. “Qualifying didn’t exactly go to plan today. When I went out on track, the team informed me that I had a hydraulic problem. I hadn’t actually noticed myself that there was anything wrong, but I was told that I shouldn’t even
change gear because that would just cause more damage. When I returned to the pits, the engineers tried to sort out the problem. But unfortunately, faults in the hydraulic system aren’t all that easy to fix, which meant I wasn’t able to get back out onto the track. A pity really, because starting from the back of the grid is far from ideal. Even so, I’m hoping to finish in the points tomorrow. I’ll certainly be giving it everything I’ve got as usual.”

“Suzuka is truly a great race track. Personally I think it’s one of the best circuits on the Formula One calendar, along with Spa, and one which every driver loves. The layout is very challenging with high-speed corners and difficult chicanes. In the past, overtaking has been really difficult here, so it will be interesting to see how the new rules affect the racing. I always love the atmosphere in Japan and the fans are really enthusiastic in their support. Let’s hope we can put on a show for them and achieve a good result.”

“I was struggling with the rear end in the race, and our car just really didn’t suit this demanding track. I had more problems with tyre degradation than the cars around me, which combined with having to switch our strategy when the safety car came out, meant it was impossible to make any progress.The optimum today would have been sixth place but it didn’t quite work out for us this weekend. “I had a good fast lap in Q3 and we were able to take the most out of the car today so I’m quite satisfied. Starting in seventh place was the maximum that we could have achieved, although Massa was very close so it was definitely worth trying to catch him. Being on the clean side at the grid gives me a good position for the start, so I will try to make up positions there and score some good points. I think it will be an exciting race here with all the new things like DRS and the Pirelli tyres.”

“Singapore is a demanding track for us drivers – it’s the longest and toughest race of the season. You could see that from my face after free practice. Broadly speaking, the circuit resembles my home race in Monaco, except that here you’ve got a few more run-off zones. In Monaco, the slightest error is immediately punished – you find yourself colliding with a wall. The race itself is certainly going to be difficult. Q: Nico, your fellow German Sebastian Vettel may clinch the title this weekend. Will you be helping him?
Nico Rosberg: Ha, if that means that I would be fighting at the front - sure, why not! (laughs) But honestly I am not really in the title fight situation. I think it is relatively clear that Seb will win the championship. It’s only a matter of time.

NR: I like street circuits. They are always very challenging tracks, which fascinates me. When I clinched P2 here in 2008 it was my best ever result in Formula One. Last year I finished fifth so I hope that I can make it once more into one of the front positions on Sunday. Singapore is fascinating too. Every year that passes there is another huge step in development. Singapore really deserves to be named a boomtown.

Q: So the track suits you, but how will it suit your car?
NR: I honestly hope it will suit it well. We’ve brought some new parts so my gut feeling is that there could be something for us this weekend, even though the track characteristics are probably not so much in our favour. Of course I am not entitled to say what’s new, but I would say to watch out.

Q: How different is it in the cockpit when you are racing at night?
NR: Ah, there is not much difference as the track is lit up so fantastically that it is almost like driving in real daylight.

Q: Skiing competitions are sometimes held in the night and some of the competitors claim that vision is better than during the day. Do you feel the same?
NR: Not really but I can understand why they feel that way. The artificial light is much more constant than daylight. Take for example when we race in the morning. The light incidence is completely different to mid or late afternoon. We take the kerbs - and the shadow they make - as reference points. So if you have identified ‘your’ lap in the morning everything is different again in the afternoon. That doesn’t happen here in Singapore.

Q: How does your body react to racing at a time when it is normally resting?
NR: It’s of course a bit strange, but you can deal with it without any issues. I have been in town already for some days and have tried to ‘live’ in the night.

Q: Is it the most demanding race of the season?
NR: Physically speaking, it’s the toughest. At almost two hours it is extremely long and you have to keep your concentration level up longer than anywhere else. So it is the training that you’ve done beforehand that helps you through those 61 laps.

Q: Nico, this is a circuit I think you really enjoy. You have qualified third here and finished second as well.

Nico ROSBERG: Yeah, in general I have had very good experiences here in the past few years. Often been right at the front. I had my best ever position here in 2008 second place so it’s a track I enjoy and I hope I can do similarly well again this year.

Q: What is it about the circuit that’s so enjoyable?

NR: It’s just a street circuit. I go well on street circuits. It’s just a big challenge and a lot of fun and quite tough.

Q: When it comes to the circuit and the car is it a good one for the car do you feel?

NR: Not sure. For sure the last couple of races have been good for the car like Spa and Monza where we have seen some progress but here probably a bit less so. But we need to see. We have a few new bits coming here to Singapore and that will improve the car so it remains to be seen. It’s a possibility.

Q: In many ways you are quite a traveller. Do these final six grands prix excite you? The very thought that we are away from Europe now and it becomes a massive World Championship in itself.

NR: Of course I find it very exciting to go to see new places, especially. For example, India is going to be a very nice experience. Never been there. Look forward to that and even coming here is great. Singapore is a fantastic place and Japan. It’s great venues that we have on the calendar.

Q: (Marco Degl’Innocenti – La Gazzetta dello Sport) I would like to know from you all – except Sebastian – what is your personal opinion about the next possible World Champion, Sebastian Vettel? How do you judge him as a driver and fellow?

NR: Good driver and deserves to win.

TG: There’s not much to add on that. I think Sebastian won the title last year, had a lot of ups and downs. This year, I think he’s just managed to have a near perfect season up until now. I have my money on him to win the championship this weekend so he has to push for it.

NR: How much did you put on him?

TG: I’m not telling you!

NR: I heard 20,000, is that true?

Q: (Bob McKenzie – The Daily Express) Jenson is quoted today as saying that despite being fit, that because the race is at night, because of the humidity, the concentration levels, the race is actually a bit long and drivers would like to see it shortened. I wonder what the view is with everybody up there?

NR: Jenson can always stop if he gets a bit tired!

Q: (Heikki Kulta – Turun Sanomat) Nico, which is more difficult: to catch Massa in the championship or keep Michael behind?

NR: My target is to catch Massa, for sure, but that’s going to be a challenge. It’s also difficult to keep Michael behind, and I just need to keep on scoring points consistently and don’t get taken out in the first corner.

“it’s a circuit that I enjoy very much, I finished second at the first race held here in 2008 so I have some good memories from that weekend. Singapore is a fantastic city and I always try to spend some extra time here with friends after the race. The track itself is good fun to drive and a real challenge.The stop-start nature means you have to concentrate hard throughout the lap and it feels very narrow and enclosed, like a true street circuit. We’ve made a good step forward with the car in the last few races and I hope we can take advantage of that again next weekend in Singapore.”

Michael and Nico unveiled the new DTM AMG Mercedes C-Coupé for the 2012 DTM season at the IAA in Frankfurt, alongside Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management at Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars Division, and Norbert Haug, Vice-President, Mercedes-Benz Motorsport.

The new car is based on the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupé, which was launched worldwide in the summer of 2011, and is the first DTM car from Mercedes-Benz to be built around a new, improved safety concept, developed in collaboration with the ITR e.V, the DMSB (Germany’s motor racing governing body) and the DTM manufacturers. The new car incorporates a state-of-the-art carbon fibre monocoque with a roll cage made of high-strength steel. Moreover, each vehicle is equipped with six energy-absorbing crash structures, giving the driver additional protection to the front, rear and sides.

The DTM AMG Mercedes C-Coupé will succeed the AMG Mercedes C-Class, which is the most successful vehicle in the 27-year history of the DTM, having scored 84 victories in 156 races and five driver’s titles. Development, design and manufacture of the new car began in June 2010 at HWA headquarters in Affalterbach, near Stuttgart, Germany. HWA is responsible for production of the cars, including engines.

“It looks really cool and I particularly like the chrome finish. The car is certainly an important step forward for the DTM, which is a great series - I began my career racing on the same weekends as the DTM, and it will attract even more fans in 2012 when the third manufacturer arrives. Whenever possible, I still follow the races on TV, and always enjoy going to local DTM events. I will of course keep my fingers crossed next year for my Mercedes-Benz DTM colleagues and hope they can bring the title home to Stuttgart with the new C-Class Coupé.”

“It was a disappointing race for me today in Monza. I had a difficult start on my prime tyres but still managed to gain a place at the first corner, so it was quite good. “It was a special feeling to be leading the race in a Silver Arrow at this amazing circuit. It was great to see the traffic jam behind me with the Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari cars, but it was hard to realise that we just don’t have the pace to stay at the top. However we have made progress this weekend and today was a good result for the team. I had to push quite hard at the start and in the middle which cost me a little towards the end, which combined with Michael being on the faster soft tyres, meant that I wasn’t able to keep him behind me. Now I’m looking forward to Monza and I’m confident that we can improve further.”

“We had a difficult situation out there with the conditions changing all the time. Wet, intermediates and dry tyres; we had everything today but we made the most out of it. Two cars from the top three teams are starting behind me which is nice to see. The team really got it right with the strategy, and everything that we did worked out well today. I’m confident for a good result tomorrow as we set the car up with the race conditions in mind, and the car has also been working well in all conditions.”

“Today’s weather was typical of Spa, first dry, then wet. Nevertheless, we learned a lot, both for qualifying and for the race. Tomorrow will be wet and Sunday dry, so we need to compromise, but we’re more inclined to favour race setup. I posted seven or eight laps today, and know what needs to be done to improve the car. I think, we’re in for an interesting weekend.”
